I do the Android setup flow more than most humans, and it's a goddamned disaster. Underhanded UI tricks from OEMs to enroll in their surveillance programs, Play complaining about GMS Core version (instead of, you know, just updating that first). Nothing about this is OK.

If you were designing an OS for folks who aren't wealthy or necessarialy even literate, you'd write down every choice Android has made and do the opposite.

I am in so much pain every time I see my father using his android phone. He presses on something, devices takes 250ms+ to provide ANY visual feedback, which is why he presses again thinking the system missed his input. And this is on a two-or-so year old Pixel.
