I've been thinking recently that the term "Progressive Web App/ PWA" causes more confusion than it solves for. It's been good to market the web's new capabilities, but not sure it makes sense as a noun. Yeah, it's uncomfortable that browser vendors haven't tried to come up with a user-visible description of PWAs. Chrome's obviously got as much blame here as others, but we're behind on PWA UI in general, sooo...

E.g., you can imagine some browser providing a "lite apps" or "instant apps" collection in one of their UI surfaces (NTP, bookmarks, etc.); or offering to install a collection of PWAs that are known-good experiences on first-run or offering to restore previously installed

This far, no browser (that I know of) has an end-user brand associated with PWAs. I suspect that as soon as they do, that will become "the name" that people use, with PWA being the nerd name
