Alex has done a bunch of work with companies in markets where people don't have access to the latest and fastest devices. His perspective is valuable.

His perspective is valuable and his findings are often valid. However, his communication style is widening the rift between the JS and perf communities and is not doing anybody any good

Agree. Making it personal is uncalled for.

To be fair, I didn't personally call him a twat. I said his tone sounded like one, which it did. MJ, I understand what you are trying to tell me. I just disagree.

That was so unbelievably brutal. There are humans, like...real people behind your interpretation of 2d text snippets. Jani - how do you like that rift? It just got bigger. Humm. Twa...wonder why?
We love you Alex. Preach on. Some of us are taking notes.

We clearly have a very different understanding of the severity of that word. However, in retrospect I wish I wouldn't have used it, not because I think it's too brutal, but because instead of strengthening my message as intended, it clearly caused people to ignore the main point

To the core point: I'm suggesting that folks selling technology with performance claims should bring evidence. Is this a norm our community should support? Who benefits if we do/don't?
