It’s been over a day, even my mbp used to build chromium faster than that

Monica, it's a weekend. But ok, I did time it...it's fast; ~30 min fully local, clean release build (with jumbo, no NACL, full symbols) and I hadn't configured Windows Defender correctly. Sides get hot to the touch, but not so warm I can't lift/move it.

Yeah; pretty happy. Suspect the fast NVMe storage isn't hurting

35 minutes for a clean (component, no NaCL, full symbols) debug build. Needless to say, incremental builds are blazing. 2-second no-op rebuild. Running non-component release build next.

What's the CPU? My "High End Engineer Workstation" 24 Core Xeon didn't build that fast.

i9-9900K, 8-core (16 w/ HT): https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/processors/core/i9-processors/i9-9900k.html … It's only 95W TDP, and still crushes my "old" Z620

Yeah, I'd ordered before those announcements. I'm going for quiet first, power second so willing to make some tradeoffs.
