Theory: there are no big wins. What seems like "big wins" are just a bunch of little wins stacked on top of each other.

Counterpoint: there *are* big structural losses and staying at the leading edge of wins requires constant learning. "Wins" are always relative to your starting point. This is both why Accenture is profitable and, in every domain, a terrible bet that only the dumb money takes.

Structural losses often take the form of "industry standard" tech adoption. Taste and decisiveness are precious. Most organisations find both in short supply, particularly in management.
