I like to say that I dream of a world when there’s a terrible financial breach and *400* people are hit. As opposed to, I dunno. A third of Germany. Apparently it did not take long at all for WhatsApp to discover this threat, and eliminate it, worldwide. Very few victims. Good.

People are terribly absolutist about security. It’s not helpful. Even for this fear based economy, it’s weak FUD. The only false sense of security is protecting oneself from a nonexistent threat, while deriding as a gimmick the very defense that made this risky attack necessary.
