It pains me when teams I work with have to spend as much (or more) time unraveling the carefully-constructed disasters they were sold as "DX". It kills me when web experiences can't compete because "thought leaders" won't cop to the predictable consequences of their actions.

At the limit, teams end up on the chopping block as a result of bad choices. Products fail, teams get laid off, leadership churns, inter-team drama ensues. And I care about that. If your conception of "DX" doesn't include it, or isn't subservient to the user experience, rethink.

They might go through months or years of remediation for reasons other than performance. I've seen teams churn months because they didn't use tooling or frameworks that help achieve application correctness or maintainability. There's a balance.
