@annevk @domenic @slightlylate @jaffathecake Hello
I'm trying to be accurate for my next talk, so I wanted some confirmation on what we call "the DOM" or "DOM APIs".

I only use these terms when I want to talk about the API you use to interact with the document the user sees. I'm tempted to say Web APIs or browser APIs when I talk about other stuffs available on the window object or window.navigator etc...

I know it's a detail but does this seem correct to you? Or maybe DOM APIs refer to any API available in a browser... Or else...

I don't think there's a canonical definition or way to reference this. I personally think of DOM as the JS API to the browser; anything exposed via IDL fits that definition, but that's more expansive than what web developers usually refer to.
