I think the problem gets aggravated when the webapp solely relkes on client side rendering. While 100KiB *IS* a lot, the user doesn't have to know about it if the content (albeit shell) loads much faster.

If you're loading that into a worker, we're on the same page. If not, we need to talk about how long tasks that are "invisible" cause users to hate your app.
