tink supporting TypeScript is a very bad idea. Packages that publish TypeScript to npm won't be usable from CDNs like http://unpkg.com . If further entrenches the tooling-require workflow that so many developers are bristling against.

TypeScript itself already has a great workflow for this: .d.ts files and the "typings" field in package.json. There's no need to compile a package on every install when it can be done once before publishing.

That'd be awesome! Maybe the goal of TS was to cease to exist also !

The nice thing about this living in compilers is that it doesn’t have any viral effect in the actual ecosystem, because the typing is compiled out before it lives alongside my code. It moves the errors to runtime which is what I want if I’m *not* using types.

Browser engines ignoring type annotation syntax would be a good start

This - if you add typing, it can't be always on at runtime because that would make things slow. At the same time runtime typechecking can be really valuable for folks using libraries (e.g. React PropTypes). Maybe you could activate a VERY_UNSAFE flag to typecheck at runtime?
