You probably also don’t know anyone who believes in hell, since they’re also knowing sinners. One does not follow from the other. It’s possible to want to be better, and to miss that mark to various degrees.

It's an unhealthy American trope to blame the individual for the systemic or claim they are insincere in their desire for change when they cannot fully escape their circumstance
