The important thing to recognize is that there is a consistent, and frankly unchangable, movement in a single direction for the last 2 decades. Whatever the arguments "against" are, they'll need to be resolved in a future where there is more reuse and not less.

They stack up like water behind a dam. Eventually everyone realizes ecological impact. In fact, the most compelling argument "for" is "I have a short time horizon and don't think my company will survive if I don't". Presumes no social impact or responsibility.

I don’t understand this take. How is software reuse bad?

It's not *bad*, per sae. It's always a contingent calculation. But use (in software projects) implies ownership in ways that the new owners rarely comprehend. This blows up spectacularly on a regular basis. High impact, higher-than-expected frequency.
