I’m old enough to vaguely remember idle thought leaders complaining that abortable fetch violated some theoretical fundamental design aspect inherent to Promises. Or some such thing.
Anyway fetch is cancellable now!

Did cancellable promises ever make it in? I stopped following honestly. Still shocked it took so long for the dom spec (or whatever it’s called) to add this / not include it to begin with.

Not in TC39 yet; had to route around via DOM. We considered doing this with Promises back in '13 (deliberately named the DOM version "Futures"); brought them to TC39 on promises of quick progress. Major mistake on my part. We lost *so* much time to it.

BTW, our original promises proposal in '13 had a form of cancellation (which was actually our second try; previous attempt in '11). Dropped to make political progress on core contract. *Sigh*
