I have no idea what Chrome's Project Fugu is, but it has some cool PWA APIs listed there and they are Priority 1 (meaning -- top priority).
To name a few:
- Notification badges
- Contacts Picker
- WakeLock API
- ... and others
Yay!

That's how it'd have to work, and our experience with the Budget API prototype suggests that we can't make any commitments up-front. Strictly best-effort. Still interesting?

I think so. Our use case would be, whenever we can: - fetch and set the badge count - fetch and cache the home timeline for next open Users might be upset that badge count lags too much. But I guess push notifications fill that gap

But there is notification badges API which could be manipulated on push. Not sure Badging API (not for icon badges, lol) or periodic sync should be related to that.
