Every time I see this wikipedia page it once-again blows my mind that Apple is shipping chips in *phones* with 8MB of *L2* cache: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple-designed_processors …
Specifically, it's quite difficult to run real comparisons that show the differences due to Apple's locked-down hardware. If you could boot Android on an A11, I suspect the situation would change quickly.

Also, tech journalists are asleep at the wheel. This is a scandal and they aren't reporting it that way.

I wonder how much of this is down to the fact that for many the flowchart of "what phone should I buy" starts with the choice "Android or iOS?". Like, I think for many (most?) consumers it really is a case that they are totally separate, and comparisons across are irrelevant.
