I believe the old WebCrypto editor is working on other things, but a synchronous, worker-only interface sounds totally plausible. Create a WICG repo for it?

I'm hugely skeptical of the "wasm justifies synchronous interfaces for everything" approach. Didn't work for IDB + workers, don't see why this is different

Have you weighed in on the OffscreenCanvas.commit() questions? They're designing around a Wasm model that never yields. Now, it'd be totally possible to provide a way to read Promises values synchronously, so that we don't need to dupicate every API.

I'm deeply uncomfortable about that design. The more I look, the more it worries me. Will discuss with those folks shortly.

We may need a TAG statement that this never-yielding model is something the web just shouldn't try to support. Otherwise folks will keep hearing requests for it and keep trying to support it.
