What I enjoy about @AlaskaAir is their stoic determination to operate a flight *no matter how many* hours late it may depart*
*except when they cancel outright and re-book you on a trip that is on the ground at destination for less than 4 hrs, on the wrong days (last month)
For context: flight last month was cancelled due to Virgin failing to pull planes for required FAA bulletins. Huge aviation no-no. Hosed APU (tiny jet engine at the back) is only an irritant by comparison...but what are the odds?

This is hitting them hard: they just pulled a crew off the line because they were afraid of hitting timeouts on sleep/wake/work cycle. Hoses planning for whole routes.
