I sure hope after this (personal) TS hump, typescript is just gonna be productivity booster.

All projects.
@justinfagnani never wants my shadow darkening his doorstep about a TS error ever again.

I also experience lost days to toolchain upgrades, but the productivity wins between upgrades are at least one week of debugging savings for every day of upgrade costs. Were you using the strictest mode and avoiding anys?

To be more specific, I've done a large number of very significant and very important refactors in a matter of a day or two that would have been impossible in an equivalent JS codebase. I'm surprised at how often all tests pass once types check (not as often as Rust but often)

Yeah - I've been using TS on a project for ~8 months, and while we haven't had a lot of toolchain issues, I have personally fixed exactly one bug thanks to TS warnings, out of many PRs and thousands of lines of code. Also a human caught it in CR. Also it was a stupid mistake.

Otoh, I've spent many, many hours contorting and obfuscating working and correct code to make TS happy.
