To "table" something means the opposite in the UK as to the US. Can I just say that we Americans got this so very wrong? To "table" as in "add something to the table" is a very useful verb and we gave it up to get another synonym with "defer". So sad.

I used this verb often in the old CSS days: shoot, floats don’t work at all for this layout, I guess I’ll have to table it.
