If you could only see the traces I've seen, you'd want to burn down "modern frontend development" too.
And contra @jkup's baseless point about "not wanting to cross the aisle", folks like @addyosmani have poured a huge fraction of their time in the past few years into documenting how to do better with some of the slower, more popular tools.

So one can claim there isn't a path (there is), but that can't be reconciled with the notion that any path requires change on the part of front-end engineers. If what we are collectively doing was fine, we wouldn't be having this discussion. The status quo is not OK.

Sorry I more meant you. Lots of folks doing great work helping us make our apps faster. Trying to give feedback that I often read your tweets, feel like you think the tools I work on are bad but don't have much insight into why or what we could do better (without abandoning them)
