You can add location information to your Tweets, such as your city or precise location, from the web and via third-party applications. You always have the option to delete your Tweet location history. Learn more
And before you suggest it - I have a thousand videos - going back to find and replace these annotations is impossibly much work.
Yeah, I realize that lots of annotations are annoying. Some saved me a ton of time though, like "this tutorial is out of date - click here for an updated version".
I get why they disabled them. I don't get why they need to be removed.
