I took an urban ecology course, and this was brought up. Redlining has had an impact on the distribution of animal species too. Those trees are habitat. That’s why there is less birdsong in redlined areas. It’s interesting how everything is so connected

I’m trying to recall exactly which course it was, in case others are interested, and I think it may have actually been a conference presentation. I remember the slide on the screen showing tree cover in redlined areas. In any case, the bit about birdsong really stuck with me.
