    I spent my early childhood living near the Mt. Olive Pickle Company and the smell of the brine was and is always in the air. Literally the worst smell ever & one of the reasons I hate pickles lol.

    If you use McCormick spices but don’t live in Maryland, you don’t know the distinct and singular experience of smelling incongruous, cloyingly spicy air when you’re near the factory while they’re cleaning their vats.

    When I lived in Lubbock for college we’d get smells too...from the slaughterhouse. 😷😩 I’d much rather have the spices lol

    that reminds me of when there was the soda factory over by waverly. i think the city paper once gave it "best environmental aroma", it smelled like a different flavor every day
