If you don't know how to use evidence correctly, it's pointless arguing about object-level stuff.

It's the equivalent of "the sky is blue, therefore we should have a UBI". If your arguments are wrong, what's the point?

My background is in debate, my takeaway from which is if you don't have values you can find evidence and arguments for anything.

That's why I find attacking someone's evidence instead of clearly stating your own position is a deadening rhetorical stance.
