Intriguing perspective, but I disagree. I do think they both solve a very similar problem in a similar framework, but that doesn’t mean that they’re the same “invention”.

For one thing, in the C-M model, it’s hard to argue that the controller is the same as the generator, and the ultimate purpose of G is not to be creative, but to learn the distribution of the given dataset.
