i would hope that we're just getting the awful weather out of the way early, but knowing louisiana, this is gonna be a recurring issue ;-;

what an awful start to this summer weather – the humidity is off the charts, our AC is straining to keep up! the skies are gray all day, it threatens to rain but relief never comes. it's been like this for several days already and it looks like it'll continue for another week...

"get a tablet then" my laptop *is* a tablet it just runs out of battery way too fast lmao

i want the *opposite* of what tech companies are trying to do. i want a phone that runs Windows programs on a six inch screen with a physical keyboard and a pen for the mouse. i want to run aseprite and kdenlive with full keyboard shortcuts. i want obs on my phone

as a handheld device aficionado the only thing i would ever prefer doing on my phone over my laptop is watching a video on a small personal screen six inches in front of my face the only reason i use an app for that is because it's native and snappy vs a mobile browser

why is the goal of every major tech company to run phone apps on a computer. if i had access to a computer i would simply use native programs and browsers instead

and now that things are finally calming down in my life, i'm really excited to reconnect with everything i lost along the way... i just hope there isn't so much that it becomes overwhelming ^^;

there are entire major formative experiences with games that i've entirely forgotten because i couldn't keep up with them! fun mechanics, worlds i love, characters that resonate with me, but also shared experiences like drawing, making levels, & streams. i miss all of it!

unrelated but analogous example: i love sweets, but for a while i entirely forgot about how much i like *desserts* like cookies and pie and ice cream. i still got candy, so i didn't forget about sweets, but i lost a large chunk of what makes sweets so appealing. same with games

instead, i've focused mostly on kirby, co-op games with my partner, and a handful of new releases. which are all *really* great, mind! but those have been all i could drum up the time and motivation for when i had to spend the *rest* of my time and motivation on Important Things.

like, i've hardly touched any puzzle games in months – only a tiny bit of tetris. what about puyo? petal crash? puzzle league? they all fell by the wayside, as i had more important things to take care of. and that's just one example – not all of them are *playing* games, either.
