In sad memory of the 418 Maine people who lost their lives to drug overdose in 2017, our Administration will create a Director of Opiate Response, a person who will marshal the collective power and resources of state government to stem the tide of this epidemic. #mepolitics

What specifically is the 'common sense approach'? Creating another government office only spends more taxpayer money on a problem that ultimately can only be fixed by those who WANT to clean up their lives.

The common sense approach is DONT DO DRUGS! Point blank. What dont people get about this being a choice and not some sort of disease or disorder. If you aren't born with the problem, and it's not transmitted through blood, body fluids, or the air than it's a choice.

Drug addiction is a choice. Pharma chose to grease doctors to prescribe. Doctors chose to write for millions of unneccisary cases. People chose to listen to their doctors. But no one chose to turn their lives inside out. Read a book and get some empathy.
