don’t suppose you know if there is way to alter that example, so that the x-axis is fixed on one variable + user selects y-axis only.

shouldnt be too hard -- just remove from ui.R and hardcode in server.R -- if you fork https://github.com/marks/shiny_socrata … I can submit a PR
