@skram seems to be steer from Hagel to encourage VistA to be proposed by commercial vendors. Much discussed at WorldVistA meeting today
@rtweed I can't imagine a COTS EHR is going to be any less expensive or have less risk. Open source = relatively inexp future growth cap.

@skram suspicion is DoD didn't want to take risk of implementing VistA themselves but letting an integrator take the risk is diff matter -
@rtweed makes sense. I would just hate to see $$$ wasted on a whole new EHR (ala CHCS and CHCS 2: https://speakerdeck.com/silverberg/it-project-management-at-gw-analysis-of-dods-electronic-health-record-initiatives …)
