“Your worst day is our everyday”—says Geo Blackshire from Pali Alto Fire Department at @IBM #CallForCode evening.pic.twitter.com/oKbxX652xk
“For every unfortunate outcome we face, there’s a small win we accomplish.” — says Geo about Tubbs fire where the firefighters said “we saved a few houses…which was nice.” It is important to recognize those moments to bring balance. #CallForCode @IBM
People who are already marginalized, are the ones that are affected the most during the aftermath of a natural disaster. This is why we should end discrimination and build communities that respond faster and better to save lives. @IBM #CallForCode
“Human rights” means “no human left behind” — well said by the UN representative (whose name I unfortunately didn’t catch) @IBM #CallForCode
It is amazing to see how @IBM #CallForCode puts developers, technology, and innovation to do good for humans. Thank you, IBM for this initiative and for giving us @cloudfoundry to partner with you.
“Dear developers,
Do not think of yourself as just engineers; think of yourself as creators. Creators of something that’ll help our fellow human beings.” (I’m paraphrasing Joma here) @IBM #CallForCode
It is amazing to see how much this @IBM #CallForCode evening wants me to sing Heal The World by MJ. That song moves me. #BeKind to those around you and use whatever abilities you’re able to, to help others.
Project Lantern sounds like a very useful and compelling @IBM #CallForCode project. It provides a portable wireless device for stronger, safer recovery. Subhalekha says “it presents my Mexico differently from how it’s being portrayed in the news today.” — this strikes a nerve.
PD3R - Post Disaster Rapid Response Retrofit is another @IBM #CallForCode is another amazing project that focuses on earthquake relief.

“We think we have everything under control. But we don’t. Dams break. Rivers rise. Fires spread. Earth quakes.”— and through these, I think the only thing that helps us all is kindness and love for all. Be kind. @IBM #CallForCode
