Does Grohmann specialize in battery assembly or just general manufacturing?
Robotics and production systems. Since Tesla acquired them they have dropped every other customer (mostly car companies) to build machinery for tesla production, in particular battery. Some say that grohmann effectively saved tesla during the m3 production hell.
I remember when the Grohmann employees voiced their concerns over new owner Tesla ending those relationships

However, this is not inline with Tesla’s mission, which it to accelerate sustainable mobility. If they hinder the encumbers, it will take so much longer!

I think the article is naming the wrong company. Tesla Grohmann Engineering mostly makes big industrial presses, not battery manufacturing machines. Maybe the article was thinking of Hibar Systems, a Canadian high-speed battery manufacturing company acquired by @Tesla last year?
Grohmann Engibeering does battery production as well. It’s on their Wikipedia page
