    Basically every software "framework" I've seen so far is exactly this. Worst thing: it's sold as a benefit to those who will suffer: abstractions aid comprehension! While at the same time taking their ability to understand by hiding lower levels of the system.

    Many high-IQ people collude (subconsciously) to make society as confusing & complicated as possible to lower-IQ people. It's taboo to discuss this 'cognitive oppression', because discussing IQ differences is taboo. Interesting how convenient that is for the cognitive elite

    You know what feature I really want? Take the element at the center of the screen and keep it there, even if content further up the page is loaded in later. (I realize that "at the center of the screen" might be complex to find out, but an 80% solution would suffice)

    I used to be kind of a snob about "call me, it'll be easier" ("they want to think in my ear rather than in their own head!") until I realized how often we all are utterly incapable of even a single productive thought unless we navigate a problem space through discourse.

    People are great at recognizing the 1 hour meeting that could have been a 5 minute email, and *awful* at recognizing the 6 week email thread that could have been a 15 minute meeting.

    (that rendering time is a bit slow on this machine btw. another desktop I checked rendered it in around 60ms. Also note that chrome counts data: URLs as Requests - the whole site is actually just two server calls.)
