I disagree with the liability issue. First, there's no such thing as settled science. There is current scientific consensus based on the available evidence, but science is never settled.

Second, it sets a very dangerous precedent. It will open the door to lawsuits for anything that someone deems was done in violation of "settled" science.

Your assumption that most lawyers will fail to prepare expert witnesses - or that a prepared expert witness will provide the same sound bytes the antivaccine movement is misusing in this case - is unfounded. And yes, let’s depose antivaccine parents.

Then how about a quid- pro-quo? All clinicians administering injections take on liability for adverse reactions and recording of prevaccination screening. Simple. This ensures safe vaccination practice. Public awareness of risk is increased, so accommodating this should be easy.
