What're your design plans for shields?

When active, shields slowly drain your energy, and all damage is redirected to energy damage. They also have a certain power requirement, so once your battery drops below ~20% (varies) it turns off. I might change it so that it still deals a small amt of hull damage though.

Do you envision shields as something you hold down, like a boost, or keep switched on for limited periods?

Hmm...... Right now it's toggleable... Holding it down is an interesting idea though. Maybe block all damage shields have to be held down, and block some damage shields are toggleable?

Yeah! That sort of hybrid system could be quite interesting, but you'd want to give the different types of shields different names to keep it from being confusing.
