As a political analyst, I was asked by many reporters to comment on Whitmer given her father’s former job. No one ever asked me about the family ties of her male opponents, Abdul El-Sayed, Shri Thanedar or Bill Schuette.https://www.michiganadvance.com/2018/12/22/whitmer-rational-conclusion-that-sexism-was-a-factor-in-campaign-coverage/ …

Few things make people as defensive as pointing out sexism that's still pervasive in politics. But these are discussions I believe we need to have. I'll be writing more about this in my columns.https://www.michiganadvance.com/2018/12/22/whitmer-rational-conclusion-that-sexism-was-a-factor-in-campaign-coverage/ …

Winning is the best revenge. Lots of us men voted for her.

Whitmer being our new governor is one of the few bright spots we see in 2019.

I am sorry you lost. I am also sorry you, like many other unsuccessful candidates, revert to the same , tired and largely baseless rationalizations to reconcile yourself to what happened. Thank you for being willing to serve. PLEASE take honest ownership of your failed outcome.

I support her, but she wasn't my first choice. Not because of her parents, but because I don't like all the special interest money in our campaigns. Whitmer took BCBS $, that's a fact. Her dad worked there too, another fact. I want single payer, Whitmer and BCBS don't.

Yeah, its not where her father worked. But the people from that work that she chose to surround herself with that made her a 2nd choice candidate in the primary for people on the left.
