The only mindset I’ve found helpful so far is: if it’s not a “hell yes - I need to do that”, then it should be a ‘no’. Still a lot of grey area there, but it has given me peace with saying ‘no’ a lot more often. I think that comes from

I feel like a major gray area, especially as a student, is that you don't really know what you will love doing. It is entirely possible that a "yeah okay, I guess" turns into a "hell yes!" down the road.
