It explains several key concept on the Adlerian Psychology from one of the big three psychologist (Jung, Freud, Adler) like "all problems are interpersonal relationship problems", "separation of tasks", "superior and inferior complex" but I want to highlight my favorite excerpts.
- Freedom is being disliked by other people. - To feel lonely, we need other people. - Instead of taking away points from some idealised image, we could start from zero (and adding point from it). - One ascertain the things one can change and the things one cannot change (stoic!)
- Whatever meaning life has must be assigned to it by the individual. Oh yeah, the book also put a strong emphasis on the difference between aetiology (study of cause) to teleology (study of goal) where the latter should be our focus instead of the former.
@sivers wrote a great, more detailed summary of it and even recommend it on 9/10. This could be a good read for those of you who are looking for a popular psychology book for the year-end or before starting the next year as the momentum.https://sivers.org/book/Disliked
