zachary @siracusa That's basically my experience in going from a 4S to a 5S as well.
That's the thing about batteries: a new 4S might have battery life similar to a new 5S, but a 2-year-old 4S sure doesn't.

@siracusa I thought batteries were awesome after 700 charge cycles? In fairness our phones manage pretty darn well for the amount of use -
@siracusa Apple devices are particularly good at battery preserving. My ’12 rMBP battery has 255 full cycles and still 99.37% capacity. -
@siracusa Honestly, you got some beast 5S or she isn’t using it much or something. Battery life does degrade, but normally not by that much. -
@siracusa Interested to know if that lasts. Made same upgrade, had same experience for a few days, then back to something more like 4S. -
@siracusa however if I assume 5h activity, 200h standby as maximum and I calculate the battery health (2yo 4S), I still get 85%. -
@siracusa my non-scientific observations having recently switched from the 4S to the 5S support this conclusion. -

@siracusa Got my 4s battery replaced last week (with 3 days left on my AppleCare+!) and it’s like having a new phone. Glorious. -
@WhollySchmidt so a bunch of money to have at the end, just a battery replaced? 15 dollars? iPhones need no applecare, they are reliable! -
@profsen It would have been $80 to replace the 4S battery.
