As you watch the churn in the Swift language and the many source-incompatible changes, remember stories like this: http://www.lysator.liu.se/c/dmr-on-or.html …

@siracusa It’s a double edged sword. It’s good they’re willing to fix thing, but makes it hard to consider Swift for any serious code yet

@pilky @siracusa I'm pretty sure we're over that point already. Many big apps are now mostly Swift. Also - future > past.

@czechboy0 @siracusa After Swift 3.0 we might start to see more reasons to switch, especially as it finally gains ABI stability

@pilky @siracusa That's fair. I just like not being "given" a complete lang, instead I enjoy seeing it develop & understanding the changes.

@czechboy0 @siracusa I’m more the kind who prefers the foundations to be secure before I start building anything ;)

@siracusa The churn in Swift also makes it hard to Google for an answer to a problem. Good chance the answer is obsolete

@siracusa Better to be flexible early to figure out how it’s used in practice and solidify it later (like they plan to in Swift 3).

@siracusa Concerning languages, there are some interesting ideas behind a language-in-the-making by a game designer:https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=UTqZNujQOlA …
