    1. startup lessons for my past year experience in South East Asia. When people talk about about the huge market in South East Asia, they actually mean Indonesia. the only country matters in South East Asia is Indonesia.

    same here. thoughtful people are hard to find and meet.

    Anthony Bourdain is the only celebrity death that has really affected me. His books and shows really changed my perspective on the world, and encouraged me to do more, to go further and embrace the unknown.

    swift is probably one of most complex languages I have used. good thing is that I have guiding me through it.

    Apple has so much teaching material positioning Swift as an easy to learn language, but I really don't think it is at all. It's so much closer to C++ in complexity, perhaps even more so. Make one wrong move in SwiftUI and you get inscrutable error messages like this thrown at you

    Facebook always just copies people. Its been happening for years, and it’s always disappointing to see.

    let’s talk about your use of design firm (character in sf?) I get we are a digital bank for everyone in the US with global ambitions. Trying to solve financial inclusion like you guys but stealing our logo / palette is low for even facebook.

    woah. still remember when we got the beta at . switching from hipchat to it. built my first integration on Slack with Envoy. for the longest time, we were the only few integrations featured on Slack. definitely one of our best early growth channels 😜

    we are not there yet. but the next time if you tell me that simpler system usually wins, think more! simpler system wins only if it is simpler for the end users not just for the developers of the system.

    look at this flowchart for Slack notification. the beauty of software is to wrap complexity into something simple for users to understand.

    for end users: both Ethereum and Bitcoin are difficult to use. Ethereum might be a little bit harder to understand with ERC20 and all.

    for developers: ask any developer, everyone will tell you that it’s a lot simpler and easier to build on top of Ethereum than Bitcoin. I will even argue that it’s almost impossible to build on top of Bitcoin.

    I will argue that this is the wrong way to look at it. *simple to use* and *simple to implement* are two different things, we cannot conflate one with another.

    “KISS - Keep It Simple and Stupid” one of the arguments many people make about Bitcoin vs. Ethereum is that Bitcoin is less complex comparing to Ethereum architecturally and hence Bitcoin is a better system.
