So what's the final verdict on glass? Should we be tossing so it doesn't contaminate the other recyclables? Is there another option?

I never got a good answer. Seems if it is intact, recycling is better than landfill. Better still is a sorting center if you can find.

I disagree after reading ur article. Its harmless in landfills and expensive to recycle. I'm going to leave it out and save my town $.

I knew contaminants were a big prob. In past, local slogan was 'In doubt leave it out'. There are slobs that use them as extra garbage can.

The place was not as stenchy as I thought it might be, actually. But yes - they are hand-sorting your trash.
