Most roadmaps are setting up their product teams to fail.
That's because, even today, most roadmaps still follow the dreaded *timeline roadmap* format 😱
And here's why that sucks. THREAD 👇
and i talked about prioritization, roadmaps, product vision, when it's time to hand off product, and so much more!
below is one of my "hot takes": founders need to own product until close to product-market fit since they own the vision!
Catch up on our latest webinar with @gbufremsays on how to build impactful products and digging into prioritization frameworks.

My telescope is in the process of taking hundreds of photos of a single nebula over the course of more than an hour, and stacks the photos together to create a progressively more vibrant picture 🌌
The app illustrates it brilliantly with the slider:
First clear night in ages, playing with my new Vaonis telescope 🤩
Simple programming to give it targets across the night sky, and let it work its magic ✨
Very preliminary results are in 👀

Love talking to new people, solving people's problems? We're looking for a *Customer Success Manager* to tackle the acquisition/onboarding end of the funnel:
I worked on this at Twitter in 2015. IIRC we tested it and most people didn't get any views and we had to have some thresholds before showing it as "0 views" was depressing
We also wanted to be accurate and not count if someone quickly scrolls past your tweet in their TL
Twitter is rolling out View Count, so you can see how many times a tweet has been seen! This is normal for video.
Shows how much more alive Twitter is than it may seem, as over 90% of Twitter users read, but don’t tweet, reply or like, as those are public actions.
Questions to ask yourself before a product team meeting
🔸Is this meeting necessary?
🔸Is this a regular meeting or a one-off?
🔸How long do we need?
🔸Who needs to come? This will change depending on the type of meeting.
Only state big deadlines on your Now/Next/Later roadmap, right on the relevant card.
This will give you more leeway to be flexible with the *rest* of your roadmap, yet still shows your execs you understand when a deadline is strategically important or externally driven.
Make the argument that date-driven roadmaps are more expensive and risky.
Point out that people add buffer to their timelines and things get rushed out the door.
This is where your tech debt is coming from.
Do you constantly get asked for dates and deadlines by your exec team?
It's frustrating, but it's important to remember that often, they just want to know the date of something because they don't trust that work is happening without it.
So, how do you win their trust?
