And now @unclebobmartin is unsurprisingly spreading a false message to 150,000+ people.
@cmaxw stated himself that his registration was revoked for "tone policing".
He asked black women to "calm down and have a conversation" with @simpleprogrammr, who verbally abused them.https://twitter.com/unclebobmartin/status/1192437033177931777 …

Asking them to have a convo is one of the issues the others are completely ignoring the victim's experience and then supporting the abuser.

based on the level of civility of the mentioned thread, both sides could report being a victim. It simply spun out of control causing complete chaos. At the end, nobody knew exactly what was the premise of this entire conflict.

Anybody who didn’t know, didn’t want to know. The information is out there for anybody to find.

that is a fair assessment, but is it how humans work in general? If that would be the case we wouldn't have the US govt fighting against fake facts/news published on social media skewing public opinions etc. All the facts are always there, right, and so far it didn't help.

my point is -- assuming malicious intent of someone who asks both sides to sit down and talk is wrong. A good intention turned into a mess and this happens. Is this a reason to ban from conferences? I do not think so.

The fact is, neither you nor I can discern the intent, only the action and its impact. If I take a swing at you and hit your face and knock out a contact or break your glasses, it doesn’t matter whether I was teasing or angry: my intent doesn’t matter. My action caused damage.

That's not how the court of law sees it. If you intentionally strike someone and kill them it's murder, if you accidentally do, it's manslaughter. Likewise if you intend to kill someone and you miss, it's attempted murder. Intentions are very, very important.

But one still gets punished for manslaughter or attempted murder. In any case, intention isn't the issue. I don't believe this was a reaction to the perception of good intentions. It's a reaction to the lack of consideration given to a person who was just abused.
