centuries long war, and frankly we're tired of passing it down to our offspring like some curse or fucked up legacy.

I get your frustration, but that's exactly the kind of thinking that creates division. No one is actively promoting racism or sexism in tech. But a lot of people are accused of it, because of the idea that if you are not with us you are against us. And the tactics being used to

enforce participation and penalize those deemed a threat to the cause are creating the opposite effect. When puritans were hunting witches, they thought they were doing a morally right thing, but it turned out is was a heinous crime which could only be seen in retrospect.

Some of our actions today are of similar ilk. On both "sides." The problem is, there really is no "sides." That is the illusion and misinformation causing the most damage. We are all humans. We all deserve the same level of dignity and respect. When we start treating people

better. All of our problems are solved. Because the root of all of these issues is the dehumanization of another human being whether it be based on race, ideology or ideas.

we, as minorities, hear that and it's like

unless he is ACTIVELY NOT, how does he not have one? And the "inclusion firm" how is it NOT minority owned when, by it's very name and job description, should be?1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

I'm not familiar with that, so I can't speak to it, but Facebook seems to be pretty far left leaning to me. I would agree though that probability would say that there should be at least one minority owned business that his company should be spending money with. Although again,

not proof of intentional racism. It may be luck. It may be that there are less minority owned business providing services that Facebook needs. It may indeed be racism, but I'd rather look for other explanations before assuming the worst explanation.

Unfortunately, the way things are being pushed today is causing exactly that effect. Believe me I've gotten a lot of personal messages in the last couple of weeks. Some of them are scary as hell. The current efforts are moving things backwards as crazy as that seems.

But, with that said, I can understand your fear of losing ground and wanting to fight the good fight. Believe me, I've nearly lost my job by calling out sexual harassment in the work place. I've been fighting this battle a long time. Just in a different way.

My way of fighting is to weaponize the would-be victims with strength. Not through violence, but strength of character and will. Too many people today are developing the victim mindset. We have to assume no one will help us or save us and that we must take a stand for ourselves.

This is correct, and this is why the approach some have found tends to be a bit... Rambunctious and exuberant.
