Charles, I reject your offer to give John a platform. In so doing, you normalize if not legitimatize his misogyny and racism. The computing industry has no place for his toxicity. There is nothing of value to be gained by giving him voice.
It’s ok. I get that you are afraid that if people hear me, instead of just reading a bunch of tweets, they’ll realize that I’m not racist or sexist. That would kind of make you look bad. Public trials are sort of old hat. Don’t let the accused speak, they could cause more harm.
