Several people responded with respectful disagreement. I have no quarrel with them. They did what they should have done. Polite discussion about disagreements is sorely lacking, and sorely needed, in today’s environment.

But then came the haters. Like moths to the flame. These were the folks I knew would come. The smug, virtue-signaling haters. They did not disappoint.

They called me names like racist and misogynist. They lied. They ranted and raved. They unfollowed and encouraged others to do likewise. They dug into my past to find things to embarrass me. They wrote notes to my clients to get them to stop hiring me.

None of this bothers me. I knew it would happen. I knew they would come. I called them in my original tweet. And I did so because I think it is useful for everyone to know who the haters are. It is remarkable how willingly they identify themselves.

These silly little social justice warriors who think that swearing, and ranting, and canceling, will change society the way they want. These foolish nitwits who cannot tolerate any opinion that deviates from their own.

They claim moral superiority and believe that they can intimidate everyone else to accept their rule and bow to their opinions. They think that the threat of “canceling” is actually significant, rather than the laughable childishness that it is.

The end result, despite all the ranting, all the hating, all the unfollowing, all the despicable childish threats, was that my twitter following increased significantly.

This was not my goal. I generally don’t pay any attention to my twitter statistics. I have better things to do. But in this instance I find the increase interesting. It tells me that the haters are losing. That their hateful behaviors are impotent.
