This is exactly why MLK marched, Jason. It was to cause "positive tension". To force people to pay attention to societal problems they were ignoring. To hear people they refused to listen to.

And I applaud that, I believe nonviolent action is more persuasive because it changes minds.

You seem confused. The point of nonviolent direct action was to force white people to listen by disrupting their comfort with oppression.

Nope not confused. Just trying to separate out those who are actively calling for people to be killed or injured in retaliation. That is not a moral belief system I ascribe to. And I don't like other people defending violence (especially when I'm potentially a target).

I’m pretty sure Jason was talking about me with regards to violence. He’s confused there as well, but nevertheless it was directed at me for my comment about civil war and death.

I appreciate you trying to put him in the best light possible. But as far as I can tell, he was the one who brought up "civil war". And he anyway did that after he used MLK in support of Amy's attempt to silence the anger of oppressed people, so my criticism stands.
