I am extremely tempted to buy houdini and do something along this area for waterfalls hmmmmmm

I know it's tempting but I think it's not worth the time and money. It's more important to work in the game itself and not a little effect like this. Especially as there are good methods for creating stylized waterfalls by just using shaders.

hmmm, would be cool if you could build a less noisy version and lerp between the two over distance :D
-
Yes that would be cool. Not sure if I can let the shader know at which point of the spline the current vertex/pixel is. Need to check it out

NICE! Are you using the spline mesh component or creating the spline on the vertex shader? Also, I feel like if you add a morph target so it starts more cylindrical and breaks up as it goes, might look cool!
-
It's a spline mesh component. I put a mesh-instance between every spline-point like in most tutorials. Then I offset the start/end-points of each mesh via blueprint with the blueorint-functions. I'll share the blueprint later.I wouldn't even know how to do this in vertex shader :D

Very nice, only luck of splashes on this liquid

I guess the idea from
@PartikelVFX would work here very well:https://vimeo.com/213730714

Splatoon 3!. Have you tested to try to make it less caotic? More like calm water gping down pipe? Just wondering if its possible?
-
It's on my list for testing :)
