Most faith schools are great - open to all and in no way proselytising. They do an immense service to our communities & have done for many years. That said, there is an argument to be made around selection & admissions in some cases. My daughter‘s at a great non-faith school btw!

The figures highlighted in this report suggest that 'some cases' constitutes 3 in every 10 families. My local situation is that 4 of the 5 schools close enough to consider are either CofE or RC. The report suggests that this is common.

With the greatest of respect to faith schools, this seems to be an almost direct inversion of the case often made for them: that parents should have the choice to raise and educate their children within their faith.
