That is not correct. The improvement in readiness based on improved economic health is what has reduced these deaths. In Bangladesh the death tolls have plummeted not because of forecasting but because they are better prepared with better infrastructure

We have far higher priorities as a society than long term climate change. That doesn’t mean climate change isn’t a problem, it simply means we can save more lives by focusing on problems we can solve now, and investing in low carbon energy such as nuclear for the longer term.
